R.I.P. Abe Pollin, the man who improved downtown

When the history of Washington's turn-of-the-millennium revitalization is written, developer and sports owner Abe Pollin will be a giant part of the story. He passed away yesterday at the age of 85.
I wrote last year about Mr. Pollin and the incredible impact of his decision to build the MCI (now Verizon) Center arena downtown, and I have now updated that post to reflect on Mr. Pollin's contributions to our community. They are impressive.
